Wee Triathalon
22 March 2012

David Stuart travelled to Fort William on Sat 17th mar. to take part in the No Fuss Events Wee Triathalon. This was Davids first attempt at a triathalon and consisted of a 400m swim,10mile MTB  ride and a 3mile run.
The swim was held in heats in the pool with David in heat 5 finishing his swim in a time of 8.14mins. Then the entrants were given a race number in order of their swim times and set of on the bike leg at the relevant time gaps. Setting of at number 31 on the bike leg David made good progress through the field and by the time he came back into transition he was up to 16th place albeit with several riders coming in just behind him.

A poor transition ( you would think by 41 years old I could get my shoes off and trainers on easily ) saw most of the people who followed him into the change pass me and out onto the run. The run was going fine until the first uphill section where David's legs tried to give up, pushing on David  eventually managed to finish in 36th place out of 67 .

David and Alan were joined by Roger Sewell of  Rrcc on Sunday for the CFCC club run. Leaving Alness the trio headed north along the shore road past Invergordon through Barbraville and onto Kildary. Heading out of Kildary the riders decided to keep to the A9 to avoid any ice on the side roads and carried on past Tain and down to the Dornoch bridge where they went round the roundabout and back up towards Tain. A quick stop for a coffee in the co-op and then the riders got a bit of a tailwind back along the A9 to Kildary and then in along the shore road again past Invergordon and back to Alness to finish. Total distance 37 miles.
