Iain Longbotham memorial 25tt

Cromarty Firth Cycling Club hosted the Iain Longbotham Memorial 25tt on Sunday 24th August. On a chilly morning 29 riders took to the A9 course, conditions looked good at the start area although it was chilly but once out on the course riders reported a bit of a headwind on the way out to the turn at Ardullie roundabout. The fastest rider on the day and winner of the Iain Longbotham Memorial trophy was Tony Hay (Highland Bikes) in a time of 54.47mins, 2nd was Callum Finlayson (Moray Firth CC) in a time of 56.24mins and Andy Cowie (Highland Bikes) in 3rd with a time of 56.47mins.

Prize winners on the day were:

1st Tony Hay (Highland Bikes)  54.47mins

2nd Callum Finlayson (MFCC)  56.24mins

3rd Andy Cowie (Highland Bikes)  56.47mins

1st Lady  Lorna Stanger (Caithness CC)  1.06.51

1st  Vet Std  Alasdair Washington  (Caithness CC)  +14.03

1st Firefighter  Gareth Luce (MRT)  59.05mins

CFCC had two riders competing and Scott Macdonald was the fastest on the day finishing in a time of 1:06:57 with Alan Cook finishing in 1:08:46.

David Stuart would like to thank all the marshalls , Commisaire and time keeper for all their help in making sure the event ran ok and especially to Iain’s family who helped by marshalling and providing the teas for after the race.
