A new event planned on the Blackisle

I wanted to let you know about a new event that's going to be taking place on the roads and trails of the Black Isle.

Black Isle Bicycles is running the inaugural Black Isle On-Offer on the morning of the 26th October 2014. It is a race with a twist; teams of 2 (some solo places are available) will compete over different terrain. The first rider will leave Fortrose and do a short road section along the coast, through Rosemarkie, up over Eathie and then back along the main road to Learnie. They then tag their partner, who rides a lap of the blue trails then heads back down the road to Fortrose. Short and sweet, but if you're riding hard the legs will still hurt!

We're on the lookout for entrants (sadly, our insurers require riders to be over 18 on the day - I know you have a lot of youth riders, and it's something we're going to explore for next year) and prizes so far include a pair entry into the 2015 Strathpuffer, £150 of Sports Direct vouchers, with other prizes getting donated all the time.

We're also looking for marshals...lots of marshals! Many of you may have already done this for your own events, and it would be great if you could get involved in ours.

I would appreciate it if you could pass the info around your members and anyone else you know who may be interested. We want this to become a regular event, and we know we need your help to do it.
