Caithness Weekend

David Stuart and Scott Macdonald made the trip up to Thurso at the weekend to take part in the Caithness Cycling Club weekend on the 2nd& 3rd of July.

First up on the Saturday was the Mack Mowatt 25tt. Conditions were good at the start with a slight tailwind blowing the riders away from Thurso but after around 6 miles riders had to face torrential rain out to the turn and most of the way back.  Both Scott and David had good rides producing pb’s on the day with David going under the hour for the first time.

David Stuart 59.08 mins in 6th overall,

Scott Macdonald 1:01:36 in 11th overall.

On Sunday morning it was onto the Caithness 10tt. Again the riders had a tailwind on the way out to the turn and a push back into the wind on the way back to the finish.

David Stuart 23.26 mins in 6th overall,

Scott Macdonald 25.06 mins 12th overall.

In the afternoon it was the Loch Calder 11 mile hilly. By now the wind had picked up and in places riders were having to ride into a strong headwind as well as having to get over the hills.

David Stuart 31.04 mins in 11th overall,

Scott Macdonald 31.10 mins in 12th overall.
