Cromarty Firth Cycling Club hosted the Iain Longbotham Memorial 25tt on Sunday 13th August. Conditions looked good for the 26 riders competing with several riders managing new Pb’s on a warm sunny morning. They had a bit of a headwind on the way down to the turn at Ardullie roundabout and then a tailwind on the return leg up to the finish.
The fastest rider on the day and winner of the Iain Longbotham Memorial Trophy was Jim Cusick of www.dooleys-cycles.co.uk who finished the course in a time of 54.11 mins, Tom Broadbent of Elgin CC was 2nd in a time of 54.46 mins and Gavin Dempster of Moray Firth CC was 3rd in a time of 55.18 mins.
Other winners on the day were , 1st Lady- Deborah Larnach ( Caithness CC) in 1.08.10, 1st Vet Std – Kenny Riddle (Moray Firth CC) with a +12.24 , 1st Junior – Alasdair Munro (RT23) in 57.05 mins and 1st Firefighter – Neil Cooper in a time of 1.03.57.
